Flowers of Carmel is inspired by the courtyard gardens at Carmel Mission in California. The week prior to my recent visit was rather stormy. The day of the visit was overcast. My heart felt heavy and ached as I walked the peaceful grounds of the mission. I looked longingly at the church and wanted to venture in, but the church was closed. I looked around and noticed the roses in the garden. I walked over and smiled at their brilliance. I reflected how, even under this gray sky, the flowers bravely reached to the high heavens and radiated glory to their Creator. I was comforted by the gift of the flowers and a new courage began to stir.
