I come from a family who loves to walk. Actually, a lot of our bonding comes from walking together and chatting about life, working through problems and celebrating joyful happenings.

I find that a walk eases me into deeper topics than it would sitting upright in front of someone. It also takes me away from the daily tasks, giving me the opportunity to leave the grasp of my mind and soak in the surrounding riches of the day.

This piece was inspired by a walk I took with my brother on a beautiful Saturday morning. We were headed to get a cup of coffee about a mile and a half away. Many of the trees on our path showed signs of spring and I breathed in the sweet sounds of happy birds.
